Yeah so... I almost forgot about this thing. Not really. I've actually been really busy with work and going back and forth between Linköping and Göteborg. I just got a new job in Göteborg but my Louise (my girlfriend) still studies in Linköping. So every other weekend I'm going to visit with her. We'll both be working in Göteborg for the summer so that will be nice and then we'll both be going back to Linköping in the fall for studies. She'll be continuing her program and I'll be starting my College Course in Swedish at LiU (hopefully). Cross your fingers or if you're swedish, hålla tummarna!
So about my new job. I work at a british bar and restaurant as a cook. Its a great place to work. Its a much better atmosphere. I like the people I work with and I'm treated much better here. It sort of felt like the owner of the last restaurant I worked felt like she was doing me a favor by giving me a job. Glad to be out of that hell hole, although I miss some of the guys I worked with.
Göteborg is an awesome city. Now that I've been staying there for a little over a month I've seen a little bit of what its like and I like what I've experienced so far. Now when I come back to Linköping it seems so small. I can't wait to be able to enjoy the weekends I have off in Göteborg this summer. Louise and her friends will have to show me Göteborg in all its splendor. I'm hoping my brother can come and visit as well. We'll have to see about that though.
So anyway... I'm hoping to put on some pics here shortly so hopefully there'll be some more updates to come. Until then...

The Start
So after 6 months of Living here in Sweden I've decided to do what many other immgrants have done and start up a blog. So here goes...
I was living up life in the US as a 23 year old American with a pretty good job when I met this beautiful swedish girl. We started dating and low and behold, two years later, I'm living with her in Sweden.
Things didn't quite go as smoothly as I had hoped but there isn't too much to complain about. Learning the language has been harder than I thought, but progress is certainly being made. It took me about 3 months to get into an SFI Course (Svenska för invandrare or Swedish for immigrants). Its a free course, which is nice, but I've heard that the courses you pay for are much better. Either way, I'm on my way to learning swedish. I also just ordered a workbook for swedish grammar which came highly reccommended by my teacher and the teachers at linköpings university called "Form i Fokus A" so hopefully that will help speed some things up. I'm looking forward to being able to converse with people here in another language.
I'm working at a Restaurant called Sangria near Storatorget (the big square in Linköping). All i'll say is that it pays the bills and its good to have some work experience here in Sweden.
So anyway, what I plan to do with this blog is to keep the fam and friends at home informed, talk about random things that cross my mind, and let everyone know what it's like living in Sweden. Other than that, I have no idea whats going to happen here... Stay Tuned!
